The Michigan City Football Hall of Fame will be inducting the following members:

* Abe Gibron, a 1943 Elston grad, was a four-time Pro Bowler during his 11-year career. He played at Purdue and was drafted by the New York Giants in the sixth round. He also was drafted by the AAFC's Buffalo Bills, with whom he played until the NFL merger. He then played with the Cleveland Browns for seven seasons, playing in six NFL championship games and winning three of them. He finished his career with the Eagles and Bears. He was an NFL assistant coach for a number of years, sandwiched around a three-year stint as head coach of the Bears starting in 1972.

* Tony Cline, a 1966 Elston grad, played defensive end at Miami and was drafted by the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Raiders from 1970 to 1975 and helped coach John Madden win five AFC West titles. Cline also played two seasons in San Francisco.

* Tom Nowatzke, a 1961 Elston grad, was an all-Big Ten running back at Indiana in 1963 and 1964 and played eight years in the NFL with Detroit, the New York Jets and the Baltimore Colts, with whom he scored the game-tying touchdown in Super Bowl V. He was a three-sport standout at Elston, earning all-state honors in football and basketball.

* Dick Tomey, a 1956 Elston grad, is the head coach at San Jose State University. After playing football and baseball at DePauw, he went on to hold assistant coaching jobs at Miami University, Northern Illinois, Davidson, Kansas and UCLA. He was named head coach at Hawaii in 1977 and was anmed WAC Coach of the Year in 1981. In 1987, Tomey became head coach at Arizone, earning Pac-10 Coach of the Year honors in 1992. In 1998, the Wildcats were 12-1 and finished No. 3 in both major polls. In 2003, Dick was an assistant defensive coach for the San Francisco 49ers and in 2004 he helped lead the Texas Longhorns to their first ever Rose Bowl appearance and victory. He's been at San Jose State since 2005. In 28 seasons as a head coach he has never experienced back-to-back losing seasons. This year, he was named president of the American Football Coaches Association.

* Donnie Thomas, a 1972 Elston grad, was drafted by baseball's Cincinnati Reds and football's New England Patriots after a stellar multi-sport career at Elston and Indiana University. At IU, he was captain and a two--time MVP, one of only two players in school history to achieve that honor. He was an All-Big Ten linebacker as well as a third-team All-American.

After a year with the Patriots, Thomas played for the Bears, Buccaneers, Lions, Cardinals, Broncos and Giants. He played a year in the CFL in 1978. He currently teaches physical education and health at Michigan City High School.
