After the recent daycare tragedy, I have done some research in to local daycare. First of all, the State of Indiana does do annual inspections of all registered day care facilities. The results of those inspections are at this link. All you need to do is put in the local zip code, and all registered facilities will pop up. Click the name, and then click "inspection information" to get those reports. Also listed are complaints filed, and enforcement actions taken. The most typical complaint is that many facilities do not have someone who is CPR certified on staff. Another common complaint is that facilities do not have documentation of shots being gotten by the kids in their facility.

In Zip Code 46360, these are the day care facilities with the most violations listed by the State of Indiana ONLY in their most recent inspections, and a quick summary of those violations. Again, I would HIGHLY recommend using the previously posted link and researching any facilities you might want to take your children to. DO NOT just depend on my research! It is also worth pointing out that a few people run multiple facilities, so check the names of the Applicants on the facility pages as well. To repeat, DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

Children of Destiny- 14 violations, centering around paperwork problems, quality/safety of facilities. The violations have been resolved according to the State of IN.

Kathy Bradley- 7 violations, including not reporting abuse, no background checks, and no proof of drug testing for careproviders.

Teresa Tender Toes- 6 violations, mostly dealing with paperwork/background checks not being done, and no CPR training. According to State of IN, violations have been resolved.

Tricias Playhouse- 6 violations, this is the facility from the recent death. Violations included cruel punishments, and not reporting abuse.

Angel Academy- 6 violations revolving around No CPR training, facilities problems, and missing paperwork. According to State of IN, violations have been resolved.

Giggly Wiggly I and II- 5 violations at II, and 2 more violations at I, dealing with missing records, missing training, and other paperwork problems.

Peekaboo- 4 violations, the worst of which was not having enough adults per children ratios.

Hearts and Hands- 4 violations, the two biggest deal with facilities safety problems

Gods Little Creations- 4 violations, including no CPR training, no record of staff having necessary shots, and background checks missing. According to State of IN, violations have been resolved.
