Election Day volunteers sought

Published: Tuesday, October 5, 2010 5:12 PM CDT
MICHIGAN CITY — The County Clerk’s office is taking names of registered voters who would like be considered to work at the polls on Election Day, Nov. 2.

Poll workers will be asked to serve from 5 a.m. until approximately 6:30 p.m. They are paid $150 and serve in a variety of positions, including signing in voters, helping them with the electronic voting machines or making sure they have a photo ID.

Call 874-5611 or 326-6808, ext. 2465, to put your name on the list. Poll workers are selected by precinct committee members, but people on this list will be chosen to fill any open positions or serve as backups.
