That seems like an awfully small turnout.

The 18% turnout is very sad and depressing. I am happy that there are a couple more women serving on the council and am glad for Bryant Dabney and Mr. Whitlow because the council should reflect the diversity of the community and the last four years there wasn't any minorities serving on the council.

I am not sure what the voter turn out was in Long Beach for the town Council election but there was clean sweep for the Long beach Party. They were running against a slate of pro-developer restrict beach access types.

The character of that place has changed and zoning regulations are being ignored. There is an absolute monstrosity of a home being built at stop 22 where a very nice home was torn down to make way. Long Beach has no public sewer system. In the summer when these summer homes near the water level filll up with multiple families on vacation it make you wonder how they are going to deal with all the waste water.

I am sure various zoning variances will be looked at closely.
