So two of the three teams are headed to the nationals now, right? Awesome! No, We're now in they are in the "Elite 8" nationally. Both have to win their respective games next Saturday morning up in Michigan in the Midwest Finals and get the field cut down to the "Final 4". Down in Florida they will have to win a two game tournament to become the Pop Warner Super Bowl national champions. |

Any word yet on specific fund raising efforts? I want to be sure that they get posted here when they are known.

LaPorte's Division III Pee Wee team's fine season came to an end with a 18-14 loss to a team from Bensonville, IL on Sunday. The Slicers have a really talented up and coming quarterback named Eric Mazany. I saw him play in their state championship game against KV and he looked like a miniature John Elway.
Apparently the zebras that were provided for that game were just as terrible as it was for our games on Saturday, they had no idea how to run the play clock and even worse the chain crew didn't have clue on how to set the down markers. The officials from Pop Warner were so impressed how we ran the League and State Championships both weekends here at Ames Field and so disillusioned how everything was handled down in Indy that they are considering having the entire series held here in Michigan City annually. |

Thank you for the kind words about my son Eric. What most people don't know is that this was his FIRST year as quatrterback. Hat's off to the whole team and of course Coaches Ed Downs and Danny Strieter in particular. JOhn Mazany Attached thumbnail(s) |
