that's a hard one. I would say both unless it comes down to one or the other, then I'll have to go with the Colts.

I like Drew Brees. Saints have good offense, middling defense.
Big Rex Grossman fan, in large part because we knew his dad in Bloomington--did us a huge favor when we were broke newlyweds at IU. Always appreciated that and respected him. Rex was a baby then, and you should have seen his dad light up talking about him even then. I want him to do well. All in all, I am really a colts fan. I want them to win it all, but I do not want Rex to look bad! I LOATHE the Pats. The difference between genius and stupidity is that there are limits to genius. Albert Einstein

I know they don't count anymore, but I feel the same way about Denver as Roger does about New England. My problem is that I live 4 hours from Denver and rarely get to see a Chicago or Indy game. I will say that I rejoiced quite loudly when Indy beat Denver, to the tune of almost getting my ass kicked!! But, it was well worth it to me.

For me, it's totally about the Bears, although I am pulling for Indy, because I like Peyton Manning, and I am sick to death of hearing about how great Tom Brady is.

Roger, you should just bite the bullet and get a hot little laptop. With Laptops, I'm partial to the HP/Compaq pro series stuff. ADSNET on Franklin Street sells them.

We made the news all of the way down in Miami for being in between the Bears and Colts.
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/16569379.htm QUOTE Colts and Bears fans share a stretch of northern Indiana. BY MIKE PHILLIPS mphillips@MiamiHerald.com DIVIDED: Gary Knight's office, above, in Danville, Ill., near the Indiana border has Colts memorabilia, while the Royal Donut shows it favors the Bears. MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. - It's a tug of war here, the old and new, the north and south, the Bears and Colts. This is Notre Dame country, this stretch of Indiana towns along Lake Michigan. It once belonged to the Bears, but not anymore. Go to any sports bar in northern Indiana and you will spot Bears caps running into Colts shirts, old allegiances clashing with a new generation. ''My dad was a Bears fan, and I grew up a Bears fan,'' said Jill Martin, a 25-year old waitress from LaPorte. ``But a couple of years ago I became a Colts fan. My dad is a Bears fan, and he'll defend the Bears till the day he dies. He left me a message on my phone this week: It was the Super Bowl Shuffle.'' Martin works at Buffalo Wildwings, one of the most popular sports bars in the area -- and a battleground come Super Bowl Sunday. ''I am sewing a shirt that will be one half Bears and one half Colts,'' Martin said. ``And some of my co-workers are doing the same thing.'' ''It will be wall-to-wall in here on Sunday,'' said Julie Kaiser, the manager of Wildwings. ``And there's definitely a mix. Ten years ago it would have been all Bears, but not anymore. We have fans come in here from all over the area -- from Valparaiso to South Bend, and a lot of them are Colts fans. My husband and my son became Colts fans two years ago.'' Taylor Miller is like a lot of new Colts fans from northern Indiana. ''Everyone liked the Bears when they were younger, but when I was eighth grade I liked [the NFL] more and became a Colts fan,'' he said. ``That was just about the time Peyton Manning became a Colt. It used to be pretty bad, but I'd say it's 60-40 now.'' Colts coach Tony Dungy joked the two teams didn't need to come to Miami, saying, ``We should just play the game in Fort Wayne.'' There's division everywhere, even in Indianapolis, where one gas station posted a sign that read: ``Honk once for the Bears, twice for the Colts.'' Debbie Underwood works in Indy, but lives in Kokomo, about 45 minutes north of the city. ''I've got a life-size cutout of Peyton Manning,'' she said. ``And I am going to put it in front of my house on Super Bowl Sunday. There are a lot of Bears fans in my neighborhood, and I want them to see Peyton when they drive by.'' This is life in Indiana, where even Gov. Mitch Daniels, who moved to Indiana when he was 10, was a Bears fan who obviously converted to the Colts. Many of the people who live along Indiana's northern shore are Chicago transplants, and a great number of them still work in the Chicago area. ''We're like a Chicago suburb,'' said a Rebecca Sorrells, a Chicago transplant who manages Curves, a health-fitness center in Chesterton, Ind. ``We're 54 miles from downtown, so you see a lot of Bears fans here. Just talking to women at Curves all week, it seems most of the women are Bears fans and most of their husbands are Colts fans. There are probably going to be few arguments on Sunday.'' At one table at Wildwings, four men were talking about the game -- it was 3-1 Bears to Colts. ''Yeah, my friends give me a hard time for being a Colts fan,'' said Sam Rogers, a 45-year old Michigan City native who used to be a Bears fan. ``But when the Colts left Baltimore in the middle of the night [in 1984], Indy got a new team and so did I. I've been with them since.'' Kerwin Edwards was sitting next to Rogers. ''I've been a Bears fan for life,'' he said. ``The Colts could win 10 Super Bowls and I would still be a Bears fan. The Colts are a fly-by-night team. I remember all those bad Bears teams. We've been through a lot.'' ''No matter who wins, everybody here wins,'' George Edwards said. ``Every bar in this town will be packed. It will be good for the economy here.'' Tony Hugly, a 30-year-old Michigan City native, is a Colts convert who is upset. ''I'm really disappointed in Wal-Mart. All they had this week were Bears championship stuff, and nothing for the Colts,'' said Hugly, who was wearing a Colts shirt. ``I grew up mostly a Bears fan, because my dad was a Bears fan, but when I was about 22 I switched to the Colts. I hear it all the time at work, and now the [arguments] are even worse because of the Super Bowl. I used to be really outnumbered, but the last three or four years you see it starting to even out. ``We're in the middle now, right between the Bears and the Colts. It's our Super Bowl.'' |

Most everyone I know is for the Bears. I'm telling people if they are rooting for the colts, they're a hillbilly. lol Just kidding, it's going to be a great game. A real dream for people in this neck of the woods! |

I talked to a friend before the SB. He used to live in southern IN. He says the people north of Kokomo are rooting for the Bears, and the people south of Kokomo are rooting for the Colts. I remember Abe Gibron who used to coach the Bears used to live in Edgewood.
