The city of La Porte is considering a $25.00 per vehicle wheel tax to reconstruct city streets. Portage, Valparaiso and Crown Point have already enacted a wheel tax.

If a wheel tax for Michigan City residents ever comes to fruition for Michigan City residents it would be a no brainer for me, I would simply title my vehicles over to my mother who resides in the county to avoid paying the tax and just pay my registration and insurance every year.
