QUOTE A man dusting crops in a small plane near 800 North a few miles east of Michigan City made an emergency landing after he ran out of gas about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. LaPorte County Police Capt. Mike Kellems said he and other officers were watching the plane treating a bean field while at the still closed stretch of Ind. 39 when the aircraft started going down. The pilot managed to land the plane in the bean field without injury or damage to the plane. |
