LA PORTE - Jennifer Evans is the new Superior Court 3 judge.
"It's so exciting," the Democratic candidate said. "I am just so thrilled. I am so grateful to the people of La Porte County for the support they've given to me."
She said voters recognized her hard work.
The final tally showed her defeating Republican Greg Hofer 27,009 to 17,592.
"I hope it's been my dedication to public service," she said, "and I hope it's that they know I'm going to work really hard for this county.
"We've worked hard from the beginning and we didn't stop."
Evans, 34, has prosecuted many of La Porte County's highest-profile cases.
