Blair Milo to announce her candidacy for LaPorte mayor Feb. 3
Blair Milo
LaPorte native Blair Milo will announce her candidacy for mayor of LaPorte at a press conference on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at B&J’s American Cafe, 607 Lincolnway.
The press conference has been moved from Wednesday to Thursday because of expected severe winter weather.
Milo, who will soon turn 28, is a veteran Navy lieutenant. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Purdue University and an MPS in legislative affairs from The George Washington University. She is a Republican.
Milo “has returned to her hometown and wants to make a difference,” a press release stated.
At the press conference she will make a short statement and then answer questions from the media and citizens in attendance. She’ll touch on her qualifications, concerns for her hometown which were deciding factors for her to enter the mayoral race, and outline her vision of the future for LaPorte and how she expects to make that vision a reality.
Milo is the daughter of Tom and Fran Milo of LaPorte.
The LaPorte city primary election is May 3, 2011.
