Pontiuses receive honor

LA PORTE — The Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities has announced Gil and Alexis Pontius of Lakeshore Foods received the non-profit’s statewide Partnership Award.
Parents & Friends Inc., which provides services to adults with disabilities in La Porte County, nominated the two, who will receive the award at the INARF Award luncheon in Indianapolis on March 9.
The award pays tribute to a business that helps form a positive public image of people with disabilities by providing employment opportunities, public relations, volunteerism and assistance with donations and fundraising efforts.
Lakeshore Foods operates Al’s Supermarkets in Michigan City, La Porte and South Haven.
