It is also timely to see the mention of then governor Romney.
Many prominent political figures have been to Michigan City throughout the years, Lincoln's funeral train in 1865. Eleanor Roosevelt spoke at the Sinai Sunday Forum in 1955, Ralph Nader spoke at the forum in 1969, Robert F. Kennedy made a campaign stop here 6 weeks before his assassination in 1968, President William McKinley in 1899, then California governor Ronald Reagan in 1976. Indiana governor and former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Dr. Otis Bowen, U.S. secretary of education Arne Duncan was here only a couple months ago. I've personally seen with my own eyes President Bill Clinton speak here in 1996 and 2008 as well as ex-Indiana governor and U.S. senator Evan Bayh in 1996 and former Director of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget and current Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels in 2004 in Michigan City.
