I don't know if anyone read Drews column yesterday about the young man and athlete from Marquette who was arrested for drinking right before sectionals, but the op-Ed is 5 stars in my opinion. There are some plenty upset people in the comment section, but I want to commend Drew for hitting the right balance in a controversial topic, that no one really wants to talk about. It addresses the issues without going too preachy or judgmental. It also makes you just uncomfortable enough to squirm a bit, which I love. The taboo of it being a high school kid makes it edgy all by itself. I wish we had more of this kind of writing in the ND. Take on the controversial topics!

It's a tough situation. When you're around people enough, you get to know them and it can be hard to separate as a journalist. Nice job Drew from someone who knows how it feels to be in the middle.
