Simon Property Group will highlight electric vehicle charging stations at Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets to celebrate National Plug In Day.

The Indianapolis-based mall operator has electric vehicle charging stations at 43 of its properties, including the Michigan City outlet mall. Charging stations will be added to another 29 properties by the end of 2014.

Simon will show off the charging stations between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday at 601 Wabash Street, behind the J. Crew.

The goal is to promote National Plug In Day, a nationwide celebration of the environmental benefits of electric motor vehicles.
