Great PBS documentary from 2004. First 1/2 hour covers the Northwest Indiana communities of Gary, Hobart, Merrillville, East Chicago, Whiting and Hammond in addition to mentioning Michigan City and Chesterton as part of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Save the Dunes council and also features former Gary mayor Richard Hatcher who is a Michigan City native as well as some cool South Shore Railroad artwork and scenes.

The last hour covers the Indiana/Illinois border communities along the Calumet Harbor/river area and running south along the Dixie Highway past route 30.

Lots of great familiar sights.
