Several years ago, Tom Moss tried to sell the land he owns in Moon Valley. For a variety of reasons, including lack of access to it, his efforts did not result in any sale. For the last several days, a couple of guys have been surveying all of Moon Valley.

Moss is in bankruptcy now. No idea who is doing the surveying, but it could be connected to a forced sale in theory.

Braje's law firm hired Doyle to do the surveying.

Back in the mid 60's, my Dad had a chance to buy ALL of Moon Valley from Karwick Road to Lake Hills road for some ridiculous price, like $30k. He's told me the story many times, I need to ask him what the price was again.

I'm curious what kind of survey is being done, metes and bounds or a full on topographical. There are some big dunes back there!

Moon Valley has been sold, but the people "who know" are not telling who bought it. If people knew who bought it, they could figure out what will be done to it. Welcome, yet again, to the politics of the area.

Are there any updates on Moon Valley, who purchased it, what the plan is? I have not seen any news at all in the last 4 or 5 months.

I'm not positive, but I believe it is tied up in bankruptcy court.

Ok, thanks. There was speculation upthread that it had been sold, so I was wondering if anything came of that, or if they were just surveying for bankruptcy purposes. I recently purchased a home that borders moon valley, so I figured I would ask. I am glad I found an active message board about Michigan City, this appears to be a great resource!

I grew up in long Beach and Moon Valley was such a great place to go drinking when we were teenagers. You could get back in there an no one would bother you. You just had to make sure the local cops didn't see you go in or out of that Karwick Road exit.
