MICHIGAN CITY — Police say a 24-year-old man was found dead Friday morning of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a lifeguard stand just west of the primary lifeguard tower at the Washington Park beach.
The death has been ruled a suicide, according to police.
Police did not release the identity of the man and said they are attempting to notify his family.
Police received the call shortly before 7 a.m. and the beach was reopened at 8:30 a.m.
