WSBT caught up with the mayor at tonight’s council meeting. WSBT asked him if he would comment on this incident while he left the meeting early and he continued to walk away.
WSBT then asked if he would comment on this incident for his people, and he still stayed silent.
According to the crash report this accident happened around 9 o'clock at night.
The report alleges Parry was driving through the grass near Washington Park Beach when he struck a water line, and this crash the report says was not initially reported.
Parry was eventually questioned about what happened.
The report goes on to say that Parry was given a urine test and his apparent physical status was "had been drinking."
“Anybody driving a city vehicle should have no alcohol and know from the get-go that there's going to be repercussions for driving a car and drinking and driving this is just to me totally, totally, irresponsible,” said Paul Przybylinski (D), Michigan City Council Member.
WSBT briefly spoke with the council President and Vice President, and they said right now they have no comment as this is still an open investigation.
