Closed on my house a year and a half ago. Just received yet another piece of mail addressed to the female half of the previous owner. Last year I had to cancel the delivery of her lingerie catalog as I am not in the market for a lacy nightie and thong panties.

Our great forefather and man whose face is on the $100.00 bill, Benjamin Franklin established the United States Postal service Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1775 and after 240 I find it astonishing that there is still no system in place to keep the new property owner from receiving the previous owner/tenants mail.

I still get mail for the people that lived in my apartment over 10 years ago.

Don't get me started. Too late! lol I've lived in Japan for almost 19 years, and mail to MC has always taken a week or so. The last things I've sent have taken 3 weeks. I sent a birthday card to my nephew in Atlanta and it took almost a month to get there. The US Postal Service, IMHO, sucks.

I literally hated the USPS. They lied, they delivered late, they say they tried to deliver but didn't... I can go on and on and on. I moved from Chicago back to MC and my hatred is slowly ebbing. Being a quasi govt. entity it's run horribly and inefficiently. The management and unions that protect and pampers them seems to be city or area influenced. I could tell in the Chicago area that MOST of the workers would not do certain things, walk further than need be or even care. I've dealt with supervisors and post masters and saw that this apathy was from the top down and the union and their agreements meant that little could be done.

I move here and have had nothing but positive experiences. So it seems as if certain cities are horrible. Atlanta is one of the very worse and it's known nationally for their problems.

So I hate them... but like them in MC thus far.

Yeah - my sister and her family live in Atlanta, and their mail always takes longer than mail to MC. And this has been a huge drop in service in just the last 6 months. Like I said, mail to MC form Kobe always took a week. Suddenly around the 1st of the year that changed to 3 weeks. Heck, I sent an express mail from Kobe, which should have taken three days. It got to LA in 48 hours, then sat in that PO for a week before finally being delivered. Horrible service now.

I constantly have problems with the MC Post Office at work. Our property has 5 addresses. Our Mail carrier decided at one point that she should only deliver one address and return the mail addressed for the others. I called and spoke with the Supervisor. He suggested I put the addresses on our box.
I did.
Now she delivers our mail to the same number one street over. AND delivers the mail for that address to me. So, the South Shore Credit Union gets our NIPSCo bills and we get their loan payments.
I called again...
Still happening.

Also, because we have a lock box and our building is secured, certified mail should be taken to the guard house for signature. Our mail carrier refuses to do that. She can't drive 50 feet from the box to the guard house. Instead, she leaves a card in the box and takes the mail back to the post office. So, now I have to make a special trip to the post office to get the mail. I called again and spoke with the Supervisor...
Still happening.

And the Supervisor is a jacka$$, too. He is rude and condescending and seems to take it personally when I complain about the letter carrier.

If the Post Office was a privately owned entity, they would go bankrupt.

I'm surprised they still even have post offices.

they need someone and someplace to sort the junk mail and Valupak's/Smart Shoppers. not cracking on their work ethic (yea I am) but the protected workers don't care.. they are protected and nothing you can do to fire them. they are hiring more hourly part time work... and they can be canned
