In addition to Sid's Pure Oil at Greenwood and Franklin, the slogan is still being used at DJ's Express which is located at the corner of Woodland Ave and Greenwood Ave.

If feel like I've asked these questions on a different thread. Can't find it, so -

Where could the slogan "If you can't stop, smile as you go by." be seen in MC?

The store next to Fat Daddies was Calico Horse.

The gas station (Family Express) that sits at the corner of Coolspring & Franklin St. - - - - I think that it used to belong to Bill Hosna (long time ago, waaay before Family Express) and there was a sign that said either “If you can’t stop, honk as you go by”, or maybe “If you can’t stop, smile as you go by”. And, there was a place behind it (where the hot dog stand is now) that at one time had trampolines that you could use for a few quarters.

Wow. What a memory! I remember those trampolines!

But, incorrect.

Tim, are you sure the answer is not Sid's Pure Oil at Greenwood and Franklin? Seems to me they had a neon sign with the slogan which hung between the two gas pumps.

And, one sidebar, concerning said sign: Sidney Rice first put a sign there with that wording in 1939. He was driving through Pennsylvania shortly before that and saw the same sign on a furniture store. It stuck in his head and he used it on the service station. Congrats to the Winner !!

Wow - what an incredible piece of history! You deserve a bonus prize - maybe an unwashed pair of Doug Adams' gym shorts!

In the late 50's/early 60's there was a little store near Gardena Playground. They sold candy and kids treats. What was it called?

The little store on Woodrow Ave was called the "Litttle Store". Bought a dimes worth of penny candy there many times. I'm not sure if the family name was in the store name but to all us kids is was the Little Store.

Another impressive win!

Easy one - what was the name of the restaurant on the 1st floor of the Warren Bldg.?

One of the first local clubs, that I remember anyway, that had rock bands was a small club on Tilden Ave. on the north side of the railroad tracks that are south of Greenwood. What was it called?

Was the Warren Bldg restaurant the Robin Hood, which then moved to the Mall, where it was in Ap-by's space?

There was a teen club at that location. The name eludes me, maybe the "Teen Scene"
