1966 was quite a year for Our Fair City, between the Red Devils winning state and this. It doesn't show up well here, but the calender on the wall really dates the picture well! My dad grew this beard for the sesquicentenial celebration - he also dyed it red during the last part of the basketball season when the Red Devils were on fire.
Thanks for posting! |

Tim, I found this reference to Samuel and Emily Miller being credited as Michigan City's first permanent residents around 1830. I'm curious to know if they are your families direct descendants? Thanks! I'll ask him when I cal tomorrow. I'm kind of thinking not - but I'll ask and let you know! |

I guess this was before the riots. (smile)
My parents used to have their taxes done by Randy Miller. |

Those were the days Tim. All-American city and sitting in the Devils Den cheering on the Red Devils. You couldn't beat those days. It sure doesn't seem like nearly 50 years has passed either. Ouch! That was the year I was born, thanks for the "50 years" comment. Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind~Dr. Suess

Tim, that's funny about your Dad coloring his beard. He must have really looked like a red devil!
